Students' Union

Can I still access Students’ Union Services?

Yes, albeit remotely. AberSU is ensuring its services continue to operate with contingencies in place where appropriate.

Please see the AberSU Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage for full information on all services and activity.

Will Students’ Union activities including Sports Clubs, Societies and UMCA be continuing?

As guidance prohibits groups of people meeting together, all Sports Clubs and Societies and UMCA must cancel training, meetings, socials and events until further notice.

That said, staff are continuing to support group enquiries where appropriate as well as provide support to prevent isolation. AberSU has created a Facebook group AberSU Covid-19 Peer Support | Cefnogaeth Cymheiriaud to help keep Aberystwyth University Students connected and supported.

Please see the AberSU Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage for full information on all services and activity.

Can I still contact the Students' Union Advice Service while AberSU is closed?

The AberSU Advice Service continues to operate as usual via remote means; you can contact the service by calling 01970621712 or emailing union.advice@aber.ac.uk.

How can I stay connected with other students?

One important way to self-care during this period is to connect with others; it’s regarded as one of the five main ways to maintaining good wellbeing.

There are a number of ways you can do this as well as the usual video calling; consider creating, joining or utilising existing online social media groups on Facebook or WhatsApp of other students whether it be on your course, staying in university and private accommodation or as part of a Sports Club or Society, to keep in touch and support each other.

AberSU has created a Facebook group AberSU Covid-19 Peer Support | Cefnogaeth Cymheiriaud to help keep Aberystwyth University Students connected and supported.

Remember when creating groups, be mindful of its purpose and that posts or messages should be relevant to the topic and factual. One way of doing this is to consider whether posts are True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary and Kind.
