MA International Politics Open Day

We will be holding an MA Open Day on Wednesday 10 May in the International Politics Building, Aberystwyth University.

The aim of the day is to introduce you to the MA International Politics Programme and its modules, our approaches to masters teaching, and, importantly, to our departmental research and postgraduate environment – what is it like to be an MA student in our Department? What opportunities and activities do we offer? What are the big research problems staff and postgraduates are engaging with?

The afternoon will consist of three elements:

4:15-5:15 we will provide a detailed overview of the MA International Politics Programme and of the modules on offer next year. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the department, programme, and Masters study more generally.

5:15-5:30 Tea/coffee break

5:30-6:30 Interactive roundtable on 21st Century Global Challenges where you and some the UK’s leading academics in their field debate what the key challenges facing International Politics are, how they might be understood, and what kind of solutions come from those differing understandings. Speakers include: Professor Jenny Edkins, Professor Milja Kurki, Professor Andrew Linklater, Professor Richard Beardsworth, and Dr Iain Johnston-White.

6:30 wine reception where you can mingle with current postgraduate students, to chat about their experiences, and with staff to talk about their research, modules and approaches to teaching, as well as the wider postgraduate experience in the Department.

All sessions will take place in the Main Hall in the Department of International Politics Building.
