Elective Modules

Transfer to Year 2

You will have a number of credits available for electives. How many will depend on a number of factors such as which institution you transferred in from and whether you are taking European Law for qualifying purposes in England and Wales. Transfer to Year 3

You will have a number of credits available for electives. How many will depend on a number of factors such as which institution you transferred in from and whether you are taking European Law for qualifying purposes in England and Wales.

You will have between 70 and 120 credits available to you. Please remember that you should be looking for a 60/60 credit split ideally between semester 1& 2; you may take up to 60 credit from outside of the department, but please remember that for Malaysian Bar purposes you must have at least 12 substantive law subjects in your degree (which can include the dissertation module as long as a substantive legal topic is covered).

Degree Classification

Degree classification is based on the 240 credits from years 2 & 3 and the marks are fed into the cascade system. For further information please see Exam Conventions.

 

Personal Tutors

You will be assigned a personal tutor who should be your first point of contact with the school. They will provide support and advice throughout your studies. Please ensure that you attend regular meetings with your personal tutor and if you require references please ensure that you ask their permission in good time.
