Ben Lake was elected Member of Parliament for Ceredigion on a very dramatic evening two years ago. As the youngest but one member of the House of Commons, Ben has witnessed the collapse of the discipline of the traditional large parties.  Having an unexpected "cwtsh" from Boris Johnson on his first day in Parliment, to the tribal attitudes of many members of the great parties, Ben bears witness to one of the most interesting and uncertain periods in the history of the British state.

The class then had the opportunity to ask Ben a wide range of questions about Brexit, pros and cons of being a member of a small party, independence for Wales, which Westminster politicians Ben is most admired (Lady Sylvia Hermon and Ken Clarke), and what can happen after the summer.

Ben believes that we could well have three prime ministers and another general election this year. Although everything was so precarious, Ben was able to say with certainty that we would discuss Brexit and its constitutional implications for many years to come.
