Free Courses for AU Staff Initiative
From September 2020, a member of AU Staff is now able to take Lifelong Learning courses for free.
Lifelong Learning offer a huge variety of courses from counselling skills to creative writing, social media marketing to Spanish, and Arabic to abstract painting, there is something for everyone! Our courses offer staff an opportunity to develop work-related skills and build up Higher Education credits, as all of our modules are university accredited. AU Staff can work towards completing a Certificate in Higher Education in Art & Design, Modern Languages, Genealogy, Ecology or Creative Writing.
If you are enrolling on a course that you will attend in your working hours, the course will need to be work-related and approval is required from your Line Manager. You are required to register on your chosen course as an AU staff member via the online shop and complete an online enrolment form.
However, if you are enrolling on a course that you will attend outside of your working hours, all that is required is that you register on your chosen course as an AU staff member via the online shop and complete an online enrolment form. You will need to agree to submit all course assessments required for the module within the agreed deadlines.
In response to Covid-19, all Lifelong Learning courses will be taught online from January- May 2021. These courses are delivered via the Online Learning Environment: Blackboard. We also use Microsoft Teams or Zoom to deliver the live elements of these online courses.
So, why not have a browse of our online learning courses? Is there a subject you’ve always wanted to find out about or a skill you’re keen to develop?
A list of all our courses running this academic year are available on our website: https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/lifelong-learning/
