Tuition & Practice
Individual lessons are available and there is space in the Music Centre for practice.
Individual lessons are available at special rates. Students wishing to take advantage of the facility are advised to contact the Director of Music before the beginning of the academic year.
Located near the seafront in Old College, the University Music Centre provides facilities for students and the local community, and promotes a wide-ranging programme for performers and listeners.
The Centre has practice rooms available to students of all degree programmes, and teaching spaces for those students wishing to recieve instrumental or vocal lessons. It has numerous pianos, a two-manual electronic organ, harp, harpsichord and chamber organ, as well as percussion and other instruments. The Old College is also home to the Music Library, which houses a large sheet-music collection with particularly strong holdings of chamber and orchestral music. In addition, music books can be found in the Hugh Owen Library - and, of course, the enormous resources of the National Library of Wales are close at hand.
