UCAS provides guidance and support services for young people who are applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at university.
Below is a useful timeline of events so you know, by Year 13, what stage you can expect your child/ward to be at as part of the application cycle.
UCAS Application Timeline – Year 13:
- September (Start of Term)
UCAS Track open for university applications, for the following academic year
- September to January
UCAS application form: with the support of your child/ward’s school or college the form will need to be completed online including sections on their course/university choices, qualifications, personal statements and more
- 15th January
UCAS application deadline for all non-medical courses
- Late February / Early July
UCAS Extra: if your child/ward misses the UCAS deadline or doesn’t receive any offers from their application there’s no need to worry as Extra gives them the opportunity to still apply for study in September
- Late June / Early July
Any UCAS applications submitted at this point will be automatically entered in to Clearing
A Level results day. If your child/ward misses out on their preferred choices, there are still plenty of options available through Clearing or, if they’ve exceeded expectations, more options again through Adjustment – find out more about Clearing and Adjustment here
Final deadline that Aberystwyth University will consider UCAS applications for that academic year
