Gooding Fund

The Gooding Fund is a bequest to support members of staff in a science department, and occasionally research students, attending academic conferences.

Financial details

Maximum values of award:
United Kingdom - £1,000 
International - £2,500

The following are eligible costs:
1. Travel: Please see the guidelines provided by Finance Dept: Travel and Fleet for booking and procuring modes of transport.
2. Subsistence Expenses: A contribution towards subsistence expenses. AU T&S rates apply.
3. Conference Fees: Reasonable conference fees will be refunded

All funds should be spent within the academic year, i.e. be completed by the 31st of July at the latest.

Eligibility

Members of staff and research students working in science are eligible for this award. Priority is given to staff applications and research students will only exceptionally be funded.

Please note, only one successful application per academic year.

How to Apply

Please fill in the application form, have your Head of Department sign it then submit electronically to drbi@aber.ac.uk, with a subject title 'Gooding Fund'.

Applications can be submitted monthly by the 1st of each month. Applications must be made in advance of Conference attendance – retrospective applications will not be considered. A maximum turnaround of 6 weeks is expected.
