Who requires RDM?

Aberystwyth University Policy

The Aberystwyth University Research Data Management Policy was ratified in February 2014 and is reviewed annually.

The management of research data is a core aim of many of Aberystwyth University's top research funders, including the councils which make up UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The UKRI Common Principles on Research Data state that:

"Publicly funded research data are a public good, produced in the public interest. They should be made openly available with as few restrictions as possible in a timely and responsible manner."

The individual UKRI councils have their own individual RDM policies, as detailed below:

• AHRC - follows the UKRI Common Principles (link above). The Council's data policy is detailed in the Research Funding Guide. See in particular, sections on the Data Management Plan and 'deposit of resources or datasets'.
