When should you make your work Open Access?

Within AU, the Green OA route can be achieved by the deposit of research output records in PURE on publication acceptance; along with a post-print version of the output, the author’s last draft following peer review (sometimes known as the author’s accepted manuscript (AAM)). Details of any associated embargo period should also be added.

Upon publication, Information Services will update the record with final details of the output, add a publisher’s copy of the item (where permissible), set any stipulated publisher embargo period and verify the record. Once verified, output records will then be made Open Access via the Aberystwyth Research Portal. The relevant version of the output (post-print/ publisher’s PDF) will not be made publicly available until any embargo period has completed.
