Part One – A preliminary introduction to MI - a standalone remote-access brief course designed to be completed by participants at their convenience. Prior to attending part two & Part three. There are six 30-minute (approx) online lessons for you to complete in your own time
Part Two - A 3-hour skills practice workshop conducted by Zoom.
Part three - Post practice workshop optional webinar on developing on-going practice and maintaining skills. With on-going access to the introductory material for 6 months.
Learning outcomes:
Part One:
- Participants will be able to explain how MI practise came about.
- Participants will know what MI aims to achieve.
- Participant will know about the variety of settings in which MI is currently utilised.
- Participant will understand the efficacy of MI as determined by research studies.
Part Two:
- Participants will understand the basic model of MI practice.
- Participants will be able to critique their own MI practice
- Participants will know how to organise and develop in-house peer support and practice.
- Participants will learn how to access training support and the evolving knowledge/practise base of MI.
Part Three:
- Participants will be able to critique their own MI practice
- Participants will know how to organise and develop in-house peer support and practice.
