Carroll University is located in Waukesha and is the oldest college in the northern US state of Wisconsin. The city of Waukesha has over 70,000 residents and is about 20 miles west of Milwaukee and 100 miles north of Chicago. Wisconsin is part of the Great Lakes region, with Milwaukee being located on the western shore of Lake Michigan. Its location in the Great Lakes region can often produce diverse weather conditions, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers.
While Waukesha is a fairly small town, there is still lots to do including a farmer’s market, vineyard and water-park. However, if you’re after a bit more of a cosmopolitan atmosphere then, as mentioned, Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, is just 20 miles away and there is a bus which goes between the two.
