Deakin University has four different campuses in fabulous locations. Melbourne Burwood Campus is based is Deakin's thriving metropolitan campus, and has approximately 23 000 undergraduate and postgraduate on-campus students. It has open and inviting spaces for socialising and studying, innovative architecture, spacious new buildings and wireless hot-spots. International student have the opportunity to participate in a free 3 day beach welcome (trimester 1 and 2) or a 1 day surf trip upon arrival. This is an excellent chance to get to know fellow students and throw yourself into Aussie life from the outset.
There are two campuses based in Geelong, a beautiful coastal city outside Melbourne. The Geelong Waterfront Campus is located is right on the ocean and boasts great facilities for living and studying. The Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is in a rural location, with ultra-modern buildings and facilities.
The fourth campus, the Warrnambool Campus, is located on the heart of the gold coast where you can live and study in a resort style environment. It boats world class facilities for marine sciences and a comfortable environment for work and play.
All courses are offered in English. Students from any academic department are eligible to apply at the discretion of their department’s exchange coordinator. There are a number of course available that are similar to the following departments in Aberystwyth. These include:

There are a range of accommodation options available at Deakin, from self-contained flats to shared flats. However, Deakin cannot guarantee spaces in their residences for exchange students. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis so it is important to get your application in as soon as possible.
Visa Information and Other Costs
All international and exchange students must apply for a student visa (subclass 500). The cost of the visa may change year on year.
A condition of the visa is that students will have appropriate Health Insurance. Deakin University arranges program length OSHC for students who are arriving from overseas to study in Australia for the first time. If you have paid your OSHC fee with your tuition fees, you will automatically be insured with BUPA Australia OSHC. You will receive your BUPA OSHC card from Deakin/BUPA staff at the on-campus enrollment and Orientation session that is held before teaching period commences.

The closest airport to Deakin University is Melbourne Tullamarine from which the university offers free transfers to campus upon request. Flight times from London are at least 32 hours.
Enrollment for the first trimester opens in mid-February and the trimester ends in mid-June. The second trimester enrollment takes place in early July and the trimesters ends in mid-October. The third trimester enrollment opens at the end of October and the last day of the trimester is in mid-February. International students are expected to arrive a few days in advance of term dates.
How to Apply
All students wishing to go on an exchange to Deakin University must apply through Aberystwyth University as they must first be nominated by the international office and students usually go in the second semester of their second year unless they have special permission from their department. After being nominated, students must complete the online application form. All applications must be made electronically.
