Westminster College is located in the historic town of Fulton, set in the rolling green hills of Central Missouri. Jefferson City, Missouri's capital, is 20 miles south of the campus, and Columbia, home to the University of Missouri, is 25 miles west of the campus. It is also just a short 100-mile drive from St. Louis and is 150 miles from Kansas City, Missouri. The town recently recieved recognition from two important travel related publications, being named one of the “15 Best Small Towns to Visit in 2019” by Smithsonian Magazine, and landing a spot on Budget Travel’s list of  “10 Coolest Small Towns in America 2019.”

Similarly to Aberystwyth the town of 13,000 has a large student population, being home to William Woods University as well as Westminister College. Mid-Missouri is marked with rolling, wooded hills and plentiful streams and rivers. A great destination for fans of outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, fishing, floating, wine-tasting, golf and arts festivals. 

Student Life

Westminster students can pick from over 50 clubs and organizations to become involved in on campus. Also. it has a well-established history of Greek culture, dating to 1868. 43% of students are members of Greek organizations, with 5 fraternities and 3 sororities. Participation in this heritage has afforded students opportunities in leadership and engagement, both on-campus and within the greater Fulton community.

Visa Information and Other Costs

All international and exchange students must apply for a J-1 visa as well as an I-901 SEVIS to study in the US. Both of these documents have fees attached which are liable to change year on year. 

All international students attending Westminster College are required to use the College-sponsored health insurance. The plan covers the majority of medical needs at 100%, but there may be exceptions to the policy which could result in students paying additonal minimal fees. Without the appropriate health insurance, students will not be eligible for a visa.

Getting There

The closest international airport to Westminster College is St. Louis Airport (STL). Busses are available, with a travel time between 2 and 3 hours. It is also possible to get a connecting to flight to acloser Domestic airport, such as Columbia, MO (COU). Westminster College advises students to contact them for travel advice.
