Salters' Festival of Chemistry
The Salters' Festival of Chemistry is an initiative of the Salters' Institute, whose aim is to promote the appreciation of chemistry and related sciences among young people. The Festivals are one-day fun events held at universities throughout the UK and Ireland. They provide an opportunity for enthusiastic young students to spend a day in a university department and to take part in practical, fun chemistry activities! Prizes are awarded to the winning teams and all students receive participation certificates and fun prizes.
Since 2005 the Salters' Festivals of Chemistry have run in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Who can take part?
Teams of Year 7 or 8 students are invited to participate in the Festival. Only those Schools that have registered on the Salters' Festivals of Chemisty website are able to attend.
When will it take place?
The Festival took place on Wednesday 14th June 2017 at Aberystwyth University.
The Festival is held on the main Penglais Campus - largely in IBERS (Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences) in the Edward Llwyd Building.
