Brief description
This module examines the character of American society and culture through the twentieth century. Beginning with the early years of the century, it also considers the contrasting experiences of the boom years of the 1920s and the depression of the 1930s, and looks at the impact on American life of the Second World War, the Cold War and Vietnam. Considerations of contemporary America focus on the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural aspects of society.
