Module description
The Honours Special Study modules form an integral part of the degree schemes in Biological Sciences. The modules consist of a range of topics, some of which are interdisciplinary, covering different aspects of modern biology.

The range of topics available will be discussed at the start of session and through participation in these modules, the student will be able to study a topic of their own selection, in depth, and will be provided with an opportunity to develop a variety of analytical and transferable skills.

Lectures, seminars, workshops and practicals will be provided as appropriate. However, the emphasis will be on student centred learning and studetns will be expected to research their own material using library and databse sources, examine and critically assess primary research literature, produce group and individual reports as well as making oral presentations.
