Brief description
This module extends and develops the work of DR22910 and DR33610 and is restricted to those students who have shown talent and aptitude towards the art and craft of directing or design. Students will be asked to direct or design x 30 minute play or extract for public performance in Theatr y Castell. Lectures and practical sessions will focus on translating the written text to stage and on how the director formulates the ruling idea for the play. Integral to this course is a visit to the RSC at Stratford upon Avon where students will analyse three performances and discuss their ideas with members of the RSC staff and company.
