Brief description
This new Part 1 English module has been devised as an 'apprenticeship' module for the discipline. It's aim is to lay the basis of the skills needed for enjoyable and successful study in the field of English - Reading Text, Reading Critics and Writing about the Text. There is an introductory lecture, and one lecture for each of the four set books, together with weekly seminar workshops for ten weeks. There are four set texts, one from each of the 'core' periods which feature in Part 2 of the degree:
