Aims


This module introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of financial management. It serves as a prerequisite to all further financial studies and applications.

Learning outcomes


Upon completion of this module students should be able to understand the concepts of time value of money, to utilise and apply relevant method of capital budgeting. Furthermore, the students will understand the nature and the evaluation of basic financial instruments (bonds and stocks), and be familiar with the cost of capital and its impact on the value of the firm.
