Brief description


The module provides an introduction to the history and practice of European integration.


Lectures and seminars will focus on the evolution of integrative structures in Europe, beginning with an historical overview of the main political developments in Western Europe. Attention is primarily directed towards the analysis of the EU's institutional structure, its policy-making process and external relations.

Aims and objectives


The object of the module is to familiarise students with the institutional map of Europe, study the particularities of European integration and consider the future trajectory of the European Union.
