Module Aims

This module aims to provide an introduction to the concepts of GIS, practical experience in entering, manipulating, analysing and interpreting spatial data, and knowledge of GIS applications.

Module objectives / Learning outcomes

On completion of this module, students should be experienced in:-

techniques for processing geographical data in various forms within a GIS

using commercial GIS and remote sensing software

appropriately selecting strategies for analysing geographical data for practical application
