Aims and objectives

This module is the core module for students on the MScEcon Degree or Diploma (RT pathway) in Postcolonial Politics.

The module introduces students to a postcolonial approach to international politics. It examines the theoretical positions of Postcolonialism, with a particular focus on poststructuralism. It investigates key processes of North-South relations such as colonialism, imperialism and development, and seeks to apply various theoretical issues to contemporary as well as historical case studies.
