Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- apply the concept of the time value of money;
- apply relevant investment appraisal techniques;
- analyse the role of stock and bond markets as sources of long-term finance for companies;
- evaluate the role of dividend policy and its impact on the value of the firm;
- analyse the role of mergers and acquisitions in corporate restructuring.

Aims

This module introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of financial management. This serves as a prerequisite to all further financial studies and applications.
