On completion of this module, students should be able to:

Brief description

The student is placed in a working situation that will broaden or extend their professional experience and/or exploit a special interest. The placement provides a ?laboratory? where ideas and concepts introduced in the classroom can be observed in a working environment. The student will also experience a wide range of practical activities and will have the opportunity to use skills introduced in their course and to lay the foundation of new skills. Students will also have the opportunity to observe the value and influence of professional attitudes. For many it will be their first introduction to the practicing profession and will therefore have an important role in motivating them and developing their understanding of the responsibility of the information professional.
