After taking this module students should be able to work independently on an open-ended project.
After taking this module students should be able to perepare and submit a comprehensive report to meet a given deadline.
After taking this module students should be able to defend the work at an oral examination.
This module takes the form of an individual project in which the student investigates a problem under the supervision of a member of the academic staff. The nature of the problem may be experiemental, theoretical, data analysis or computer modeling. The project will allow the student to apply knowledge and techniques learned in the course so far. Emphasis is placed on understanding and application of fundamental physical principles.
