After taking this module students will be able to:
plan and execute a major research project.
prepare, present and review research proposals
understand the way research is funded in the UK
be aware of advanced computing and analysis methods
Following the project dissertation module (PH45010) and the project planning and advanced computing and analysis elements of this module, the student will carry out a project within one of the research groups active in the Department. There will also be an intensive residential course, held at Gregynog at the start of the second semester, organised jointly by the Physics Department in Aberystwyth, Swansea and Cardiff. The course will include sessions on planning a project, communication and self management skills and structured group work on presenting and assessing projects.
This will be different for each project.
