Brief description

A business requires accurate and relevant information from both internal and external sources in order to operate profitably. Proper collection of data creates an environment where informed decisions can be taken to the benefit of the business concerned. This module will look at data collection concepts and methods and how they can be applied to create information useful to a business.

Transferable skills

The following skills will feature in the assignments:

Managing tasks and solving problems
Assignments (a) and (b): Problems set in both assignments will require students to quantify and qualify the problem before finding a solution.

Applying technology
Students will apply both software and hardware technology in determining a solution to problems set.

Applying design and creativity
Assignment (b) will include statutory recording/analysis and also user defined requirements. Both will entail innovation in providing a concise and accurate solution.
