Departmental Research -------------- Departmental research provides the intellectual engine for the department. The men and women engaged in this research also lecture the students and their enthusiasm for their areas of research informs their teaching.
The research done in the department also provides challenging opportunities for undergraduate projects designed to complement current research efforts.
Several exciting fields of research are pursued in the department and you can find out more about them here:

Student Support -------------
  • No fighting for resources with easy 24 hour access to our modern computers and work station rooms using your library swipe card.
  • To help you with your course work there are both face-to-face as well as online help available through the advisory service
  • Tutorials Every student is assigned to a tutorial with several other people from their year.
These tutorials provide opportunities for closer contact with members of staff.
  • Pastoral Care College life can be stressful. The department recognises that all students are individuals with differing circumstances. Financial, family and health problems can all impinge on a student's work.
Every student has a personal tutor with whom they can seek help when in need.
  • Medical and counselling services with the student union.
