The Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG) aims to create a research community for sharing research and practitioner activity in sustainable social innovation. The SIRG will enable the sharing of both practice and research based activity in the broad area of social innovation. The following is illustrative of SIRG’s activity themes:

  • Social innovation promoting circular economy outcomes
  • Managing and leading social innovation
  • Social innovation and climate change
  • Developing community agency and capacity for local economic development
  • The role of finance in enabling social innovation

To help build and maintain a research community focused on social innovation the research group will actively engage with its stakeholders. This engagement is designed to maintain a dialogue to produce practitioner and academic outputs for the mutual benefit of stakeholders. A social innovation practitioner advisory board has been created. Members of the research group are drawn from across the world.
