eLibrary - the single search interface to multiple resources. (06.02.2009)
eLibrary is a gateway to quality academic resources, such as peer-reviewed articles and selected websites. It lets you search a number of databases simultaneously from a single search interface, saving you time and effort. Results are retrieved in a merged, de-duplicated list and you can store the records you find in a single location. You can customise eLibrary to create a list of databases you want to search.

Wiley Blackwell ejournals- 12 May 2009
Following the recent merger of the two large journal publishers - Blackwell and Wiley - and subsequent protracted negotiations, for a 3-year deal, we now have online access to the full text of over 400 extra titles, in addition to the 800 previously available to us, covering volumes from 1997 to date.
Wiley-Blackwell was created in February 2007 by merging Blackwell Publishing with Wiley's Global Scientific, Technical, and Medical business. It is now one of the largest academic and professional publishers, active in the physical sciences, life sciences, medicine, social sciences and humanities, and the largest publisher publishing on behalf of societies.

British Periodicals Online (1680s to the 1930s) - 18 February 2009
Courtesy of JISC, via Proquest: British Periodicals Collections I and II - this archive traces the development and growth of the periodical press in Britain from its origins in the seventeenth century through to the Victorian "age of periodicals" and beyond. This unique digital archive consists of over 460 periodical runs published from the 1680s to the 1930s, comprising six million keyword-searchable pages and forms an essential record of more than two centuries of British history and culture

Burney Collection of 17th and 18th century English news media - 18 February 2009
Courtesy of JISC, via Proquest: The Burney Collection - The newspapers and news pamphlets, gathered by the Reverend Charles Burney (1757-1817) represent the largest single collection of 17th and 18th century English news media available from the British Library. The collection includes nearly 1 million pages from more than 1000 pamphlets, proclamations, newsbooks and newspapers from the period, including the first successful London daily and first illustrated newspaper all dating from 1600-1800.

Pamphlet collections from leading UK libraries now available in JSTOR - 06 February 2009
JSTOR announce the initial release of pamphlets from the 19th Century British Pamphlets Project. Approximately 8,200 pamphlets were added to JSTOR today, including portions of the Knowsley Pamphlet Collection (University of Liverpool), Cowen Tracts (Newcastle University), and the Hume Tracts (University College London). The pamphlets are from collections held by: Newcastle University, Durham University, University of Manchester, University College London, University of Liverpool, London School of Economics and Political Science, and University of Bristol.
The 19th Century British Pamphlets collection is now freely accessible to all JSTOR participating institutions through June 30, 2009 as they work to evaluate delivery, presentation, and use of the content, and develop an understanding of how best to address the needs of researchers and students working with it. There will be regular releases of additional material during this pamphlet trial period.

We now have access online to the full text of all 34 science and social sciences titles of the Annual Reviews series, including the new Marine Science, with various back-year access. Blackwell-Synergy & Wiley InterScience - 30/06/2008
Integration of Blackwell Synergy and Wiley InterScience journal content
The journal content previously available on Blackwell Synergy is nowbeing delivered through Wiley Inter Science due to the merger of Wiley-Blackwell's online journal systems. Blackwell Synergy is no longer operating.
This is a first step in the development of a next generation online publishing platform, arriving early 2009, which will deliver Wiley-Blackwell journals, online books, reference works, databases, protocols and other electronic resources through one integrated service.

Nineteenth 19th Century British Library Newspapers- 14 January 2008
19th Century British Library Newspapers is a joint effort between the British Library and Gale to make available digitized versions of key 19th Century British newspapers. By taking the British Library's collection of 19th Century newspapers and turning it into a high-resolution digital format with searchable images, this database presents online access to a key set of primary sources for the study of 19th century history. The features of this collection include:
- 2 million newspaper pages
- Selected by experts in the field
- Full runs when possible
- National and regional newspapers
Titles in the database include the Morning Chronicle, The Examiner and Illustrated Police News and Chartism newspapers. Regional newspapers include: The Northern Echo, the Western Mail, The Newcastle Courant, The Ipswich Journal, The Bristol Mercury. In all, 48 titles from the nineteenth century are included

JSTOR - new Arts & Sciences V Collection - 01 August 2007
We now have access to all the titles on JSTOR as we have subscribed to the new Arts & Sciences V Collection. JSTOR is an archive of electronic full-text journals available in their complete runs (i.e. from the date of the first issue) as an archive up to four or five years before the current issues in most cases.

Archive of Celtic-Latin Literature Online (ACLL)is a full-text database of the corpus of Latin literature produced in Celtic-speaking Europe, together with the Latin works of the Continental 'peregrini', from the period 400-1200 AD / CE. It contains more than 400 Latin works spanning the fields of theology, liturgy, computistics, grammar, hagiography, poetry and historiography, and including legal texts, charters, inscriptions, etc.

Landmap Service archive via the National Grid Service (NGS) now available - 14 September 2007
The Landmap Service provides web-based access to and support for a range of satellite imagery for the British Isles for research and teaching purposes. It provides access to satellite images from four satellites covering the UK, which can be used as stand alone, with image or graphics software, or with other mapping data, eg Ordnance Survey data. A Digital Elevation Model of the whole of the British Isles at 25-metre resolution is available.
