Teaching

Research

German sociolinguistics, especially processes of standardisation and attitudes towards non-standard varieties of German. I have also investigated teachers' norm awareness and norm knowledge.

At present I am working with colleagues in Switzerland and Luxembourg on a project investigating the level of acceptance of the pluricentric model among teachers of German in Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
