Brief description
The course will equip students to assemble evidence, analyse it and recommend courses of action in relation to cross-functional organizational problems. One component of the module is relationships with external stakeholders and how to manage these in an ethical fashion. The module also introduces students to strategic management in anticipation of greater development of this material in the research project phase of the degree. This module is designed with a particular practitioner focus, with the aim of utilizing concepts introduced in the first semester. Readings reflect this, with an emphasis on quality practitioner articles and cases.
This course is taught in a block, a manner consistent with best practice in other UK business schools. This allows for a range of delivery mechanisms for the material, including case study work, small group sessions and presentations. This is an essential aspect of this course and contributes to employability development as well as pedagogical issues.
