On successful completion of this module students should be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of how valorisation opportunities can be identified

Identify the advantages and disadvantages of plastic packaging for food

Brief description

This course will provide an introduction to waste-stream valourisation, with a focus identifying valourisation opportunities in the agrifood sector. We will also explore the advantages and disadvantages of plastic packaging in terms of waste creation and reduction

Content

Through a series of online lectures, guided reading and quizzes, students will explore different food waste valorisation systems and approaches to recycling packaging and other waste resources
