  • Entrance Scholarships and Merit Awards
    Up to £2,000 per year
    You will be required to sit two exams from the choice of subjects we offer. Each exam lasts for an hour and a half.
  • Academic Excellence Scholarships
    £2,000 in your first year.
    If you have placed Aberystwyth as your Firm choice of university through UCAS and you achieve the following results then you will automatically receive the award: Grades AAA at A-level*; DDD in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma; 34 points in the International Baccalaureate;
  • Departmental Awards
    Up to £500 per year.
    Applicants must either be in receipt of a University Entrance Scholarship in the relevant subject or: Mathematics: achieve a grade A* in A-level Mathematics; Physics: achieve at least two A grades at A-level, one of which must be Physics; Computer Science: achieve excellent (A*) A-level grades.
  • Welsh Medium Study Scholarships
    Up to £400 a year - for following part or all of your course through the medium of Welsh.
    Those who register on eligible modules will automatically receive the payment. Details of eligible modules will be available upon registration at the start of each academic year.
  • Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Scholarships
    Up to £3,000 to support your studies.
    There are two levels of award, depending on the number of credits studied through the medium of Welsh.
  • Sports Scholarships
    £1,000
    Recent achievement of a high standard in your chosen sport, and commitment to performance development.
  • Aberystwyth Town FC Scholarship
    £4,000 per year
    Candidates must have experience of playing at a level equivalent to the Welsh Premier League.
  • Music Scholarships
    £650 a year
    For experienced players of orchestral instruments.
  • Care Leavers, Young Carers and Estranged Students
    The award comes with £1,500 per year and a range of tailored support.
    This bursary is to support UK domiciled applicants who have previously been in care, who have caring responsibilities or have become estranged from families or guardians in their late teenage years.
  • Rashid Domingo Bursary
    Up to £12,000 over your studies
    This Bursary is open to applicants for any of our undergraduate courses in the Institiute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Studies (IBERS) or the Department of Physics, who have attended secondary school/college in Wales for a period of at least 3 years.
  • Emily Price Scholarship
    £500
    This Scholarship has been created to support female applicants on Mathematics or Physics courses at Aberystwyth. The successful candidate will demonstrate academic promise and a passion for increasing the involvement of women in Mathematics and/or Physics.
  • Margaret Evelyn 'Lynne' Williams Bursary
    £500 during the first year of study.
    This is a Bursary to support students studying a single or joint honours degree in the Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies at Aberystwyth. Applicants must have attended secondary school in the counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire or Swansea.
  • Stuart Rendel Exhibitions
    Up to £1,000 per year
    To be eligible, applicants: must be residents of Montgomeryshire; under the age of 25; must have attended a Montgomeryshire High School for no less than 2 years.
  • OSA Grant (Cardiff Branch)
    Up to £1,500 for one year
    Applications are invited from students attending a school or college situated in the South East Wales area (post codes CF and NP).
  • Inclusive Accommodation Offer for international students
    Free accommodation in Cwrt Mawr or a £2,000 discount on other university-managed accommodation.
    All eligible full-fee paying international students beginning their studies on an undergraduate programme, or a postgraduate programme will automatically receive the inclusive accommodation offer.
