Description : :

A medium-sized fungi, convex viscid cap and dry smooth stipe. Gills slightly adnate, stipe fibrillose or pruinose at least at apex.

Widespread in Europe, but rare. Very rare in Denmark. Main habitat is unfertilised grasslands. Usually found growing in small groups of 15-20 carpophores.

Generally restricted to calcareous soils.

Description : :

A small to medium sized fungi, Stipe and cap dry, with oblong spores.

Distribution is unknown but presumed to be widespread in Europe. It has been found in grasslands and roadsides - only found in Calcareous soils.

Description : :

A medium sized fungi, Stipe dry and cap dry to viscid. Cap often conical in shape and slightly darker in coloration to the stipe.

Widespread across Europe, also found in some parts of North America. Often found in unfertilised grasslands. Generally solitary or in small groups.

Greyish fungi varying in size, Dry felty cap and stipe.

An American species which is rare to Europe, preferring unfertilised grasslands. Often found growing in groups.

Small to medium sized fungi, reddish orange in colour. Dry cap and stipe with decurrent gills.

World-wide distribution and widespread in Europe. Found in grasslands, woods and occasionally in Sphagnum bogs.

Description : :

Small fungi bright yellow in colour, Stipe dry and cap Viscid with adnate to decurrent gills. Stipe < 5 mm's in diameter, with narrow constricted spores.

Widespread in Europe preferring unfertilised grasslands and lawns. Also found in mosses and rich deciduous woods. Known as Hygrocybe subceracea in America.

Common in Northern hemisphere, found growing in groups in unfertilised grasslands.

Description : :

Small pale yellow or white fungi, Viscid cap and stipe in early stages turning dry with age. Cap convex with distinct decurrent gills, spores 8-10mu x 4.5-5mu.

Often found in North America and low-artic Greenland. Usually growing in or near moss, shrub heaths and drier parts of bogs.

Description : :

A variant fungi which can include; Cap and stipe viscid; Stipe dry and cap viscid, Stipe dry and cap dry. The common features include a conical cap, which become black when handled or with age.

The most widely distributed species of Hygrocybe. Found in most areas of the world. Found solitary or in small groups restricted to grasslands.
