Birmingham International

From the airport's railway station catch the train directly to Aberystwyth. Journeys take approximately three and a half hours.

At the start of the academic year in September the International Office offers a Meet and Greet service to International Students travelling from Birmingham International Airport.

Cardiff International

Passengers can catch a shuttle bus from the airport terminal to Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station.  From here trains run to Cardiff Central Station where you have the choice of travelling to Aberystwyth by bus or train.

By bus:

Visit the Traveline Cymru & Megabus web sites to find the best option for you. Journeys take approximately three and a half to four hours, depending on the service you use.

By train:

Take the train to Shrewsbury, changing at Shrewsbury for Aberystwyth. Journeys take approximately four hours.

Gatwick Airport (London)

The train journey from Gatwick takes approximately six hours. Catch the direct train to London Victoria Station, then use the London Underground's Victoria Line to reach London Euston Station for connecting services to Aberystwyth via Birmingham New Street. Alternatively you can take the National Express coach to Birmingham and then change coach & continue to Aberystwyth University's Penglais Campus. Journeys take approximately eight and a half hours.

Heathrow Airport (London)

The London Underground will take you from Heathrow Airport to Euston Station for regular onward trains to Aberystwyth, via Birmingham. Visit the National Rail Enquiries web site for train timetable details.

Alternatively you can take the National Express coach to Birmingham and then change coach & continue to Aberystwyth University's Penglais Campus. Journeys take approximately seven hours.

Luton Airport (London)

From the airport, take the National Express coach to Milton Keynes Central Railway Station (one hour). From there catch the train to Birmingham New Street Station and then change train for Aberystwyth. Stanstead Airport (London)

Take the train from Stanstead Airport to Tottenham Hale Station and then the London Underground to Euston Station. Once there, catch the train to Birmingham New Street Station, changing at Shrewsbury for Aberystwyth. Fishguard

Fishguard is the arrival port for ferries from Rosslare, Ireland.

Holyhead

Holyhead is the arrival port for ferries from Dublin & Dun Laoghaire in Ireland.

Dover

Dover is the arrival port for ferries arriving from Calais and Dunkirk in France.

Alternatively take a taxi or walk to Dover Priory Station from which you can catch the High-Speed 1 (HS1) train services to London St. Pancras.
