Students

Information Services (IS) provides library, computing and media services for Aberystwyth University. To make use of our facilities you will need an Aberystwyth University computing account and an Aber card. All use is subject to Information Services Regulations and Guidelines.

Computing accounts for all new and existing students, including Distance Learning Students and Lifelong Learning Students are generated and updated from the Student Registration System (AStRA) via an overnight process. Please ensure that you have completed and submitted all forms requested by your Department, the Academic Quality and Records Office and the Student Fees Office.

Your computing account will remain on the system while you are registered as a student.

Information for students at the end of their period of registration:

• Continuation Registration for postgraduate students
• Graduates - are able to apply for Associate Readership of the University Libraries and for an alumni email address
• Temporary withdrawn students

 

Student Union Clubs and Societies

Clubs and Societies affiliated to the Student Union can have a computing account for publishing web pages and email. Full details here
