'If International Relations lives in the street, what is it doing in the classroom?'

The Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University is pleased to announce that this year's E. H. Carr Memorial Lecture will be given by Peter Vale, Professor of Humanities at the University of Johannesburg, and Nelson Mandela Chair of Politics Emeritus at Rhodes University.

In the lecture, Professor Vale will discuss the ways in which Western scholarship (particularly dealing with International Relations) dismisses the Global South, and sets up its own way of looking at things as the only way.

The lecture will take place from 6:00-7:30 pm on Thursday 14 March in the Old Hall, Old College, Aberystwyth University. This is a public lecture, and all are welcome.
