The complete guide to Clearing

13 August 2013

With Clearing around the corner, Aberystwyth University has made the process as stress-free as possible this year by creating a video guide to help individuals navigate their way through the system

If your exam results turn out to be different to what you expected, don’t panic because there are numerous courses available through Clearing and the process can still match you with that perfect course.

As well the video guide, an individual can contact Aberystwyth by using the live chat box on the website or through the University’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Take part in the conversation and send your queries by using #AskAber where you will also be able to see other people's questions

Aberystwyth University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, Enterprise and Engagement, Professor Martin Jones, said, “Most universities throughout the UK are active in Clearing this year because universities are operating in a very different environment with the introduction of the student fees.

“The video guide provides advice and tips on what to do immediately after receiving your A Level results until a place at university has been secured. The Clearing Support Team is available any time before, during and after A Level results day, so give us a call if you have any questions.”

A report published last month by the Complete University Guide ranked Aberystwyth University the safest University in Wales and England to study.

Professor Martin Jones adds, “More and more students are choosing to come to Aberystwyth not only because it’s a safe and friendly place to study, but because Aberystwyth is very much the place to be. The environments in Aberystwyth, the academic and social as well as the physical, provide a high quality student centred experience.”

Aberystwyth is offering guaranteed accommodation for all first year students, including those coming through Clearing and Adjustment, so call the Clearing Support Team on 0800 121 4080 if you have any questions.

Aberystwyth University has 11700 undergraduate and post graduate students, around a third of which are from Wales, around 60% are from the rest of the UK and Ireland, with the remainder from the rest of the world.
