Trump‘s 100 Days Debate

24 April 2017

Aberystwyth University’s Department of International Politics is staging a special roundtable discussion to asses Donald Trump’s first 100 days in power.

The discussion will start at 6pm on Monday 1 May 2017 in the Main Hall of the Department of International Politics. Entry is free and all are welcome.

The event is the latest in a series of public events organised by the Department to focus on key topical issues including the presidency of the United States and Brexit.

Professor Richard Bearsdworth, Head of Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University, said: “For any observer of US politics, the past 100 days since Donald Trump took office have been fascinating.

“We’ve seen major shifts on a range of foreign policy issues including air strikes on Syria,  support for NATO and relations with China. This roundtable gives us a chance to scrutinise the President’s early days; to try to understand the direction of Trump’s White House, and to consider the longer term implications for the international community.”

The panel of experts from Aberystwyth University’s Department of International Politics includes:

  • Dr Jeff Bridoux, Lecturer in International Politics
  • Dr Warren Dockter, Lecturer in International Politics
  • Dr Jenny Mathers, Reader in International Politics
  • Dr Gillian McFadyen, Lecturer in International Politics
  • Jan Ruzicka, Lecturer in Security Studies
