Sir John Rhys

Sir John Rhys (first Professor of Welsh at Oxford) left his collection of some 2,000 books to Aberystwyth University library when he died in 1915. They are recognisable by their very distinctive coloured book plate. The university archive also contains correspondence received and collected by Sir John Rhys, manuscript notes both written and collected by Rhys, and printed material.
