The course-book will be Écho 1, Méthode de français. Students should be able to communicate on a basic level in spoken and written French. Students will have acquired a basic knowledge about language in general as well as a basic grasp of French linquistic structures. Students will have been introduced to the cultural context in which those French structures are used.
On completion of this module students will have acquired a foundation in the language, a grasp of its linguistic structures and familiarity with its common vocabulary and high-frequency verbs (predominantly in the present tense). They should be able to communicate at a basic level in spoken and written French and handle the more typical situations of everyday life.
