Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module students will be able to

1. Understand the financial information requirements of equine business proprietors.
2. Construct financial statements.
3. Interpret and analyse a set of equine business accounts.
4. Write a report on the financial statements of an equestrian business.
5. Undertake comparative review and profit assessments.

Aims

The aim of this proposal is to introduce students to enquine business management . This introduction will encompass primary needs of account users, construction of financial statements and understanding and analysis of equine business accounts.

Content

The object of this module is to introduce students to equine business management, the construction and interpretation of accounts and comparative analysis. Factors influencing the profitability of equestrian businesses are examined in detail.

Students will be expected to use spreadsheets and present a word processed case study.

Students are expected to manage their own time and work to deadlines set for the submission of the case study.
