Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:

  1. Design a survey of vegetation (specifically forests)
  2. Establish and layout sample plots for vegetation inventory and conduct standard measurements
  3. Set up a survey network using a combination of total stations and GPS
  4. Set up and operate a terrestrial laser scanner.
  5. Plan field campaigns in support of airborne/spaceborne remote sensing surveys.
  6. Write manuals/protocols relating to collection of field, ground and airborne remote sensing data.
  7. Explain and articulate methods of field, ground and airborne remote sensing data collection.
