Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
translate simple sentences from Old Irish.
read elementary literary texts, and understand their place in the history of Irish Literature.
demonstrate an understanding of some of the basic elements of the Old Irish Language.
Brief description
Introduction to features of Old Irish (c.7th-10th centuries) not covered in IR11510, with study of some representative and interesting texts. Students will be expected to prepare material on a weekly basis.
