On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the challenges surrounding disease control in balancing economic and welfare considerations
Identify the challenges faced in implementing and continuing control of diseases and improvement of welfare issues
An exploration of the health and welfare challenges faced by the dairy, beef and sheep, pig and poultry sectors, including: disease control, economic factors and emerging models and technologies
- Disease control policies and research.
- Mechanisms for controlling disease globally, nationally and locally.
- The future cost and complexity of developing technologies and theoretical models for livestock disease diagnosis and control

|The assessment will present theoretical problems for the students to solve.

|Students will be expected to synthesise complex information
|Students will be required to examine and synthesize quantitative data from a range of publications and databases to develop answers for the written assessment.
