Brief description

Agricultural Leadership and Career Readiness prepares students to transition effectively into the workplace by developing professional knowledge, self-awareness, and employability skills. Through interactive workshops and industry engagement, students explore career pathways, undertake skills audits, and develop a career development portfolio. The module also emphasises reflection on professional behaviour, ethical and regulatory considerations, and applied decision-making.

Content

This module prepares students for the workplace by developing their ability to reflect on their strengths, weaknesses, and career goals. Students will learn how to enhance their employability through professional communication, self-assessment, and targeted development, culminating in a career development portfolio. Input from industry experts will help students understand current professional expectations and consider how these insights shape their own motivations and aspirations. The module also includes simulated workplace scenarios in which students work in groups, under time pressure, to develop and justify practical responses. Reflection on these activities supports the development of strong professional behaviours, teamwork skills, and career readiness for the agricultural sector.
