Helpful travel information to enable you to plan your journey to Aberystwyth can be found on our Maps and Travel page.
Registration
Your Postgraduate study at Aberystwyth begins at registration. For registration you will be required to meet with staff from any academic department responsible for modules on which you wish to register. For research students, this means you must also meet with staff in the Graduate School if you are required to, or choose to take research training modules.
Please remember that you will need to register every September regardless of when you commenced your programme until your studies are complete.
(Non-EEA) International Students: In addition to registering with your Department(s), you must also arrange to meet with the University’s Compliance Officer during your first week here.
The Academic Quality and Records Office oversee Registration and can be contacted by email: pgsstaff@aber.ac.uk.
Aber Card and Email Set-Up
To make use of the library, computing and media services at Aberystwyth University you need an email account and an Aber Card. You will be able to activate your email and apply for your card prior to arriving at the University. Bank Letters for Non-UK Students
When opening a student bank account in the UK, you may be asked to provide proof that you are a student at Aberystwyth University. This will take the form of a letter. Included in this letter will be your home and term time address taken from your student record. You will need to make sure that the University has your correct address details.
From September, bank letters may be requested via your Student Record and collected from the Certification Office within the Academic Quality & Records Office (Cledwyn Building) on Penglais Campus. In most cases letters will be available for collection within 24 hours. Information on how to request a letter of introduction to UK Banking Facilities is available from the Academic Quality & Records Office page.
