Research has always played a central role in the Department and at the moment HEFCW provides the Department with approximately one third of the funding available in Wales for research in Celtic Studies (including Welsh).
Students who follow the ‘Cyflwyniad i Gymraeg Proffesiynol’ module are to be warmly congratulated on the success of their contribution to this year’s Aberystwyth University Book Festival. The lively Welsh language line-up arranged by the students received a very positive reception, and was praised by all who attended.
The Department of Welsh at Aberystwyth has achieved the highest score throughout the University according to the results of the 2012 National Student Survey which have just been published.
